Not only do we run a restaurant but we have quite a story to tell you.  It all started in 1957 when my father met my mom. And it turned into a huge big Coppola family with uncles and aunts all involved with the Original Coppola's Restaurant  on Main Street. There are quite a few restaurants in the area run by Coppolas. But at this location, the Original Coppola's Restaurant on Main Street, it's just my husband, Jim, and I. 
        You probably think that I must have a lot of history with the oldest family run restaurant in Poughkeepsie, and it's true. I'm the first born of the Coppola clan and grew up living above the restaurant. I've been running around these dining rooms since I was  3 years old. But I'm not the only one. My husband too has  been around for many years.  We met in high school and he got a job at Coppola's as a busboy when he was 16 years old and worked his way through college.  Believe me when I tell you it wasn't easy convincing my father that an Irishman can run a Coppola's Restaurant.  But I did ! And Jim has  been running this ever popular family niche. He also is an excellent cook!  My father taught him all of the important aspects of operating an authentic Italian restaurant. Jim and I pride ourselves in nostalgic dishes but  also introduce contemporary dishes in our evolving menus. Jim and I have worked hard to keep our place the  same most welcome and friendly environment as when my family first started almost 50 years ago.
